This compliance rating is often required by the Department of Defense or government entities for prime or sub-contractors or other non-federal entities as it relates to security measures to protect information (Controlled Unclassified Information – CUI) from cybersecurity threats. We are the first wood crate and packaging company to meet the requirements of this rating as well as being one of the first businesses in the Pennsylvania region to be NIST SP 800-171 Compliant.

About NIST SP 800-171

NIST stands for The US National Institute of Standards and Technology, which has been put in place to maintain security standards and guidelines with the intent of protecting the information of federal agencies. The NISP SP 800-171 requires the implementation of advanced cybersecurity initiatives as it identifies critical information security best practices to safeguard sensitive information. It is expected that all Federal Government contracts involving CUI will require NIST SP 800-171 compliance.
